Explainer Media is an independent publication about the entertainment industry that explores how content is curated, produced, distributed, consumed, and celebrated.

The feeds can tell you what's happening and what's trending, but fail to explain how it all works — who makes content, who owns the IP, how media is delivered, and why a project fails or succeeds.

Our core beliefs on Explainer Media include:

Explaining is not lecturing. We assume you are smart, curious, and busy. Our work should be clear, brief, and objective — while also identifying gray areas, turning points, and new developments.

Reports and references. Sources are linked and referenced. If we don't know something, we say so. When faced with ambiguity, we disclosed it. Trust is built and maintained as an active practice.

Right over rushing. We'd rather be late and right than early and uncertain. There's no shortage of theories and misreporting out there. We prefer reputable sources, accurate information, and noteworthy perspectives.

We cover the infrastructure under the culture. The ins and outs beyond outrage and optics.
